A safe space for prayer
Since the establishment of the Irish Province in the late 1800s, our MSCs have devoted their time to serving their parishes through spiritual guidance and practical support, preaching parish missions and conducting retreats and workshops across Ireland, England, Scotland, and Wales.
We currently have two active MSC retreat centres in the Irish Province. These centres offer a safe space for reflection, prayer, and peace, where those who visit can find sanctuary in God’s loving embrace. Different MSC retreat programmes are available to suit all needs, and both of our retreat centres offer a warm welcome to all.
Croí Nua, Taylor’s Hill, Galway
Croí Nua Spirituality Centre was established in 2002, and is managed collectively by MSCs and MSC lay associates. The Irish “Croí Nua” means “a new heart” – with a programme including workshops, short courses, lectures, retreats, and liturgical services, the centre offers a sacred space in Galway where people can hear God’s Word and experience God’s love.
Myross Wood, Leap, Co. Cork
Myross Wood is a retreat and spirituality centre located by the sea in the beautiful surroundings of West Cork. With 100 acres of woodland on its doorstep, Myross Wood House is a haven of peace and tranquillity on the Cork coast. Managed by the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart, the centre offers a host of day retreats, educational programmes, workshops, prayer groups, and daily Masses. All are welcome to come and explore the presence of God in our daily lives, while the serenity of the stunning West Cork landscape promises a deep and profound experience of peace and joy.
